Where Young Diplomats Shape the Future
The 2026 Asia-Pacific Youth Model United Nations Conference (Hong Kong and Macao Chapter) is a leading international platform for students across the Asia-Pacific region. Hosted by one of China’s top universities and supported by leading universities in Hong Kong and Macao, the conference brings together more than 200 student delegates from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Southeast Asia to debate some of the most pressing global issues of our time.Model United Nations, commonly known as MUN, has a global history of more than 80 years. Participants take on the role of diplomats representing different countries. Following authentic United Nations procedures, students conduct research, engage in debate, lobby other delegates, and draft resolutions.

Conference Committees
Students may choose from six committees, covering global issues in diplomacy, sustainable development, digital safety, artificial intelligence, employment, and human rights. Committees are offered in either English or Mandarin, with options for both secondary and upper-primary students.
What Students Will Gain
Model United Nations is much more than a debating activity. It is a comprehensive leadership experience that develops the skills most valued by universities and future employers. Students learn by doing, not merely by studying theory.

Students deliver confident speeches and position statements in front of more than 50 peers.

Global Perspective
Students learn to understand real-world international issues from multiple national viewpoints.

Research and Writing
Students draft position papers, resolutions, and policy documents in English or Mandarin.

Diplomacy and Negotiation
Students practise lobbying, alliance-building, and consensus-building under United Nations rules of procedure.

International Network
Students build friendships with peers from Hong Kong, Macao, Mainland China, and overseas.

Official Certificate
All participants receive an official certificate of participation issued by Beijing Foreign Studies University.
A Two-Stage Conference Journey
APYMUN 2026 is not only a single event. It is a pathway to national-level recognition and an international network of future leaders.

Hong Kong and Macao Chapter｜27 to 30 July 2026
The first stage is the Hong Kong and Macao Chapter, which will be held from 27 to 30 July 2026. During the four-day programme, students will serve as delegates in their selected committees. Together with more than 200 peers from the region, they will take part in public speaking, formal debate, negotiation, and resolution drafting at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Macau University of Science and Technology.
Top 30% Performing Students to Beijing
The top-performing 30% of students will then be invited to represent Hong Kong and Macao at the highest-level world conference held at the Beijing Foreign Studies University main campus in late November 2026. This Beijing conference will bring together 600 elite students and will serve as an annual showcase for some of Asia’s most promising young diplomats.
Awards and Recognition
Outstanding performance will be recognized at different levels, ranging from individual awards to advancement opportunities for the Beijing conference.
University-Level Certificate of Participation
All delegates who complete the conference will receive an official certificate issued by Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Best Delegate Awards
Each committee will recognize outstanding delegates and the best position paper writers, with the possibility of recognition during the closing ceremony.
Invitation to the Beijing Conference
The top 30% of delegates will be invited to represent Hong Kong and Macao at the Beijing world conference, a rare and prestigious opportunity.
Registration Information
Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested families and schools are encouraged to reserve places early so that students can begin their journey as global young diplomats.

Students who are joining the conference independently may choose to join the Future Education Delegation for additional support. This optional package is available for an additional HKD 2,800 and applies to Hong Kong students only.
The package includes FEC-arranged accommodation in Macao for two nights, ferry tickets, and local transportation. Students will receive care equivalent to an educational study tour, with dedicated staff accompanying them throughout the programme. Further details are available in the registration form.
For First-Time Participants
Students who are new to Model United Nations may first join the Model United Nations Foundation Training Camp. By completing the training once, students can gain the confidence and essential skills needed to enter the world of global MUN activities.
