We are thrilled to reflect on the incredible success of the World Model United Nations (WMUN) 2025 conference held from November 28-30, 2025, in Beijing, China. Co-organized by Future Education Centre (FEC) in partnership with Beijing Foreign Studies University, this transformative event brought together passionate young delegates from across different regions to engage in meaningful diplomatic dialogue, tackle pressing global challenges, and develop essential 21st-century leadership skills.

Fostering Global Leadership Through Diplomacy
Over three intensive days, delegates aged 10-18 from multiple countries and regions participated in authentic United Nations committee simulations using different languages including English, Mandarin, Spanish and French, representing diverse nations and perspectives on critical issues ranging from climate action and sustainable development to international security and human rights. The conference provided an immersive platform for youth to experience the complexities of international relations firsthand while developing crucial skills in research, public speaking, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication.
"WMUN 2025 has once again demonstrated the remarkable potential of young people to engage with complex global issues through informed, respectful dialogue," said representatives from the Future Education Centre. "When given the opportunity, youth can rise to address even the most challenging international problems with creativity, empathy, and diplomatic excellence. These delegates are the global leaders our world needs."
Commitment to Sustainable Development
At the heart of WMUN 2025 was a commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Committee topics were carefully aligned with these global priorities, including poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, climate action, and peace and justice. Delegates explored how international cooperation can address interconnected challenges while developing innovative, actionable solutions grounded in the SDG framework.
Comprehensive Committee Structure
WMUN 2025 featured a diverse array of committees designed to challenge delegates across multiple dimensions of international relations and topics:

Each committee was expertly facilitated by experienced chairs and advisors who guided delegates through complex negotiations while maintaining the authenticity and rigor of UN procedures.
Developing Future-Ready Skills
Beyond traditional Model UN competencies, WMUN 2025 emphasized holistic development across multiple skill areas. Delegates conducted extensive research, developed comprehensive position papers, and engaged in formal speeches and diplomatic negotiations. Through collaboration within delegations and across national boundaries, participants learned the art of consensus-building, strategic thinking, and finding common ground amid diverse perspectives.
